This course is designed to acquaint students with conceptual issues around nature, process, roles and problems of Public Relations. It covers basic introduction to PR and processes, philosophies, underlying PR practices; PR channels and relationships and differences between PR and other PRA tools. It shall examine the concepts, theories, and practices of Public Relations and Public Affairs; the importance of Public Relations in either profit or non-profit organizations.
It presents the principles, practice and ethics governing public relations with emphasis on mutual communication between the public and an organisation, evaluation of public attitude, identification of policies and procedures of an individual or an organisation with public interest and plan.
