Usman Abdulmalik Ngaski

Registry Department, being one of the key operational departments plays pivotal role in ensuring efficiency of a university system. The Registrar is the chief administrative officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University. He is also by virtue of that office, the Secretary to Council, BOT, the Senate, Congregation and Convocation.

The Acting Registrar, Rayhaan University Birnin Kebbi is Mal. Usman Abdulmalik Ngaski. His vision is that of: (i) ensuring automation of registry administration by leveraging on technology for effective service delivery; (ii)    encouraging teamwork and trust within the University by ensuring harmonious working relationship between the Registry Department and other organs of the University with a view to achieving the core mandate of the University; and (iii)       ensuring discipline to achieve the mandate of the Department by strict adherence to monitoring office practices and procedures, as well as safeguarding the privacy and security of academic and administrative records.

Mal. Usman Abdulmalik Ngaski was born on 9th August, 1981. He attended Government College Bida, Niger State from 1993 – 1999; College of Preliminary Studies – now College of Basic and Advanced Studies, Yelwa Yauri, from 2000 – 2001; Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) from 2001 – 2005; UDUS from 2009 –2010; Institute of Advanced Technology, Nairobi, Kenya in November, 2011; and UDUS from 2013 – 2015. He holds (as his highest academic qualification) a Master’s Degree in Governance and Public Policy (MGPP) from the Department of Political Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

Mal. Usman Ngaski started his working career as a part-time teacher at Government Secondary School Wara, Kebbi State in 2006. He was a Lecturer at the College of Education Waka-Biu, Biu Borno State during his one year mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC). He also served briefly as Assistant Secretary at the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission, Birnin-Kebbi from September, 2007 to January, 2008 before joining the services of his Alma-Mata – the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto as Administrative Assistant in February, 2008 and rose through the ranks to Principal Assistant Registrar. While rising through the ranks in the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, he served in different capacities including:

  1. 2008 – Oct. 2013 Administrative Officer/Admin. Secretary & Communication Officer, STEP-B (World Bank Assisted) Project
  2. 2013 – April, 2014 Assistant Registrar / Admin. Secretary, University Development Office
  • April, 2014 – Jan. 2017 Assistant Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office
  1. 2017—Jan.2021 Senior Assistant Registrar and at the same time serving as P.A to Vice Chancellor; and
  2. 2021—Date Principal Assistant Registrar and at the same time serving as S. A, to Vice Chancellor Office; and
  3. Currently, the Acting Registrar, Rayhaan University Birnin Kebbi

Mal. Usman Ngaski attended a number of administrative, project management and capacity building trainings within and outside Nigeria. He has had the opportunity to visit seven countries including: Kenya (2011 & 2013), Singapore (2012), Ethopia (2011), Dubai (2012), Saudi Arabia (for Hajj, 2012), Benin Republic (2018) and Niger Republic.

Mal. Usman Ngaski had served as Assistant Secretary, Member, Member/Secretary, as the case may be, to over twenty (20) Administrative Committees within and outside the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He was awarded a Certificate of Honour and Appreciation by the World Bank in recognition of his outstanding performance during the STEP-B Project in October, 2013.

Mal. Ngaski has always maintained cordial and good relations with colleagues wherever he served. He is happily married and blessed with four children (2 girls & 2 boys).
