Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is a Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN). Doctor Kudirat Abiola Adegoke obtained her PhD in Library and Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Master and Bachelor of Library and Information Science degrees from the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Post Master’s Professional Development Certificate at the University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa respectively. Her areas of interest include Information and Communication Technologies, Library Administration, Library Automation, Digitisation, Data Management and Digital Marketing amongst others. Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke worked in the ICT Division of the Abdullahi Fodiyo Library Complex for fourteen years where she rose through the ranks to become Senior Librarian and was appointed as the Head of the ICT division for three consecutive terms before she was later redeployed to the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Education, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto as Lecturer.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is currently the Chairperson of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Sokoto State Chapter, Member of the Council of the NLA, Pioneer winner of the Young Library and Information Professionals (yLips) Award of the Nigerian Library Association, two- time winner of the Carnegie grants for Continuous Professional Development Programme for African Young Librarians, Winner of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Library-in-a-Box.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke has served as an editorial member of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria NALISS Search Light; and has attended numerous professional conferences, seminars and workshops which have kept her abreast of the current trends in Library and Information Profession home and abroad.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke serve as a Secretary in Bizare Oils Ltd, Area II Garki, Abuja before joining the services of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto after one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps. She was privileged to serve as a member of various university, faculty and departmental committees. A few of such committees include e-Learning, Library Management, ICT, E-resources Technical, University Tender’s Board, Virtual/ Digitization, Mock Accreditation, ICT, Telecommunication and Proposal draft/grant writing, just to mention a few.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is passionate about leveraging ICT for effective library service delivery. She has introduced Electronic Dissemination of Information (EDI); designed and monitored the development of a portal for Abdullahi Fodiyo Library Complex, etsblished WiFi Arena for undergraduate students of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, created database of open sources; digital marketing of library resources, introduced e-reference services; and CD-ROM Searching,
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is a member of the Nigerian Library Association, a member of the Nigeria Computer Society; member Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World; Female Lecturers Association; Internet Society; she is a member of the NLA Digital Crew since inception till date; a member of Academic and Research Library Association; Association of the Northern Women Entrepreneurs, she has many local and international journal articles and book chapters to her credit.
