METHOD OF APPLICATION

1.0 PREAMBLE
Rayhaan University, Birnin Kebbi is amongst the newly (2023) licensed private universities in Nigeria. The University will commence undergraduate studies in the 2023/2024 academic session, with 15 take-off academic programmes approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The overall goal of establishing the University by the Proprietor is for the realization of his cardinal objective of promoting knowledge, research and community service. The Institution is focused on delivering quality teaching, learning and research for the overall development of humanity.

2.0 VACANCIES

3.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

3.1 Faculty of Science and Computing

  • Professor:
  • Candidates should possess first degree, Master’s degree and a Ph.D Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Computer Science, ICT, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Science OR related areas of specialization, with at least twelve (12) years of experience in teaching and research, preferably in a university system or similar institutions;
  • They should be able to develop new programmes, conduct research independently and have proven supervisory and administrative capabilities;
  • They must show evidence of acceptable scholarly publications in reputable journals both National and International;
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory;
  • candidates are expected to have fair knowledge about the operation of a university system; and

  • Lecturer I
  • Candidates should possess first degree, Master’s degree and a Ph.D Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Computer Science, ICT, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Science OR related areas of specialization with at least three years post qualification experience and should demonstrate ability to carry out research in their areas of specialization.
  • Master’s Degree holders in relevant areas with at least five (5) years Teaching/Research experience and evidence of good record of publications in reputable journals are eligible to apply.
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.
  • Lecturer II
  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in relevant areas with at least two (2) years Teaching/Research experience.

  • Assistant Lecturer
  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in relevant areas with at least one (1) year Teaching/Research experience.
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.3 Registry Department

i. Senior Administrative Officer/Executive Assistant to Vice Chancellor
Candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:

  • LL.M. degree obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus at least 3 years post qualification experience, preferably in the administrative cadre of any public/private university or similar institutions.
  • A Master’s degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Public Administration/Management obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus at least 3 years post qualification experience, preferably in the administrative cadre of any public/private university or similar institutions.

Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to details is a requirement.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

  • Administrative Officer

Candidate shall possess any of the following requirements

a)       A Master’s degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Public Administration/Management obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy.

b)       LL.B. with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) obtained from a recognized institution, B.L and NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy.
c) A minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Law/Public Administration/Management obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

  • Administrative Assistant
  • Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Law/Public Administration obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

  • Clerical Officer/Senior Clerical Officer/Assistant Executive Officer/Confidential Secretary
  • (a) For Clerical Officer, candidate should possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) with pass in at least five (5) credits to include Mathematics and English;
  • (b) For Senior Clerical Officer/Assistant Executive Officer in addition to SSCE with pass in at least five (5) credits including Mathematics and English, a certificate in Public or Personnel Administration or its equivalent is a requirement.
  •  (c) For Confidential Secretary, candidate should possess a a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) with pass in at least five (5) credits to include Mathematics and English, plus 80/35 WPM certificate in shorthand and typing from a recognized OR a recognized certificate of Computer training 

3.4 Bursary Department

i. Accountant I
Candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:

  • A minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree obtained from a recognized institution and Professional Qualification in Accounting obtained through qualifying examination (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CPA, etc), NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus at least one (1) year relevant post-graduation experience;
  • Master’s degree in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus at least one (1) relevant post-graduation experience;
  • A minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy with a minimum of 3 years relevant post-graduation experience.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

ii. Clerical Officer (Accounts)/Senior Clerical Officer (Accounts)/Assistant Executive Officer (Accounts)

  • For Clerical Officer (Accounts), candidate should possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) with pass in at least five (5) credits to include Mathematics and English and certificate in Accounting and Auditing or equivalent; or recognized certificate in Computer training;
  • For Senior Clerical Officer/Assistant Executive Officer (Accounts) in addition to SSCE with pass in at least five (5) credits including Mathematics and English, a OND in Accounting and Auditing or its equivalent is a requirement.

3.5 University Library

i. Senior Library Officer

Candidate shall possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Library and Information Science, Library Science Management or equivalent obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and be proficient in Information Technology, plus with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

ii. Higher Library Officer

Candidate shall possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Library and Information Science, Library Science Management or equivalent obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and be conversant in Information Technology (IT).
Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

iii. Library Officer

Candidate shall possess a minimum of Diploma in Library and Information Science Management, Library Science or equivalent obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy.
Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

3.6 University Health Centre (Clinic)

i. Medical Officer
Candidate shall possess MBBS degree obtained from a recognized institution, a minimum of one year internship training, NYSC Certificate, full registration with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and evidence of Computer Literacy.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

ii. Staff Nurse (Nursing Officer II)
Candidate shall possess registered Nurse certification plus full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and evidence of Computer Literacy.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

iii. Medical Laboratory Scientist II 
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) A HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in Medical Laboratory Sciences or relevant areas obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy; plus at least one year relevant experience.
b) A minimum of Third Class degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other relevant degree obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy; plus at least one year relevant experience.

In addition to (a) and (b) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.  

  1. Laboratory Technician

A candidate shall possess OND in relevant area obtained from a recognized institution and be conversant with knowledge of Information Technology (IT).

  1. Pharmacy Technician   

A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:

  1. A OND in Pharmaceutical Studies obtained from a recognised institution and be conversant with Information Technology (IT).
  2. A Pharmacy Technician Certificate obtained from a recognized institution, Registration with the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) and be conversant with Information Technology (IT).

In addition to (a) and (b) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.7 Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Unit

i. Network Engineer
A candidate shall possess a minimum of good Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or any relevant discipline with a minimum of second class lower division obtained from a recognized University and NYSC plus:
                 i)  at least two (2) years relevant experience in networking, or
                 i) any relevant and recognised entry level network development certification such as CISCO, HUAWEI, Mikrotik, etc.

ii. Software Developer
A candidate shall possess a minimum of good Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or any relevant discipline with a minimum of second class lower division obtained from a recognized University and NYSC plus:
i)  at least two (2) years relevant software development experience, or
i) any relevant and recognised entry level software development certification such as IEEE’s Certified Software Developer, Microsoft Certified Software Developer, etc.

iii. ICT Support
A candidate shall possess a minimum of good Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or any relevant discipline with a minimum of second class lower division obtained from a recognized University and NYSC plus at least two years relevant experience in ICT support.

iv. Computer Operator (Laboratory Technician)
A candidate shall possess a minimum of OND in Computer Science or any relevant professional Diploma certifications in relevant areas obtained from a recognized institution, plus three (3) years relevant working experience.

3.8 Academic Planning Unit:

Academic Planning Officer I
A candidate should possess any of the following qualification:

  1. Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Education Administration and Planning or any related area obtained from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years post qualification cognate experience, plus evidence of Computer literacy.
  2.  First Degree not below second class honours (lower division) in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Education Administration and Planning or any related area obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate with at least five (5) years post qualification cognate experience, plus evidence of Computer literacy.

In addition to (a) and (b) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.9 Internal Audit:

Internal Control Officer I
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:

  1. A minimum of Second Class Honours degree (Lower Division) in Accounting and Professional Qualification in Accounting obtained through qualifying examination (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CPA) NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy;
  2. A Master’s degree in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy;
  3. A minimum of minimum of Second Class Honours degree (lower division) in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy with a minimum of 3 years relevant post-graduation experience.

In addition to (a), (b) and (c) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.
