ADVERTORIAL: RAYHAAN UNIVERSITY BIRNIN KEBBI SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED COUNCIL OF LEGAL EDUCATION (CLE) RESOURCE VERIFICATION TEAM

On Monday, 17th November, 2025, Rayhaan University Birnin Kebbi proudly hosted distinguished delegation from the Council of Legal Education (CLE) for a crucial resource verification exercise. This visit marks an important step in the University’s preparations to commence academic activities of its newly approved Law programme.

The exercise took place at the University’s Take-off Campus, attended by a 6-member CLE verification team led by Professor Isa Hayatu Ciroma, SAN, the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School. The delegation included other prominent members such as: Ms. Aderonke O. Osho, Secretary to the CLE and Director of Administration, Nigerian Law School; Dr. Olayinka Silas Akinwunmi, the Law Librarian; Mr. Dalmat Mamiso, Secretary to the Panel; and Professor Kabir Garba Muhammad, Dean of Law, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and CLE member.

The visit commenced with a courtesy call on Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammed Lawal Ahmadu. The Vice Chancellor, while welcoming the team on behalf of the Proprietor of the Institution, Abubakar Malami, SAN, CON; Council, Management and the entire University Community, express the University’s readiness to commence the full-time LL.B Law (Common & Islamic Law) programme, and presented an overview of the University’s vision and resourcefulness. The exercise also fostered interactions between the CLE team and the Management as well as staff of the School of Law, thereby enhancing collaboration and understanding.

Following the initial discussions, the team embarked on a comprehensive tour of the Take-off Campus to assess the facilities and verify the resources essential for the successful launch of the Law programme. They were highly impressed by the facilities and other educational resources at Rayhaan University. The verification exercise aimed to ensure that Rayhaan University meets the highest standards of educational excellence set by the Council of Legal Education.

Although the outcome of the exercise is being awaited; judging by the comments and observations of the team at the exit briefing, the University is very optimistic that the outcome of the visit will be positive for the University in particular and the Nigerian legal profession in general.
